Toddlers are initiated into colors, shapes and even letters through building toys. Toy blocks are shaped into squares, cylinders, triangles, etc in different colors. These are made of wood, plastic or foam. Seeing their child place one toy block on top of the other is such a wonderful experience for parents. Playing with toy blocks are recommended by experts for the development of the child’s physical, social, intellectual and creative faculties.
As far as physical benefits go, toy blocks build the child’s strength of the fingers and hands. Hand and eye coordination is also developed. When playing blocks with other children they learn to interact. Children learn their first ABC’s and 123′s from toy blocks. Certain math skills are developed by grouping adding and subtracting blocks. And when they are taught to stack the blocks they are set off to eventually creating their own block structures.
