Little kids derive comfort from soft things – pillows, blankets and plush toys. Some children even have a favorite stuffed animal that they prefer sleeping with at night. In the olden days, stuffed animals were just homemade cloth dolls stuffed with straw, beans or cotton. On the more macabre side, hunted animals that were processed through taxidermy were also classified as stuffed animals.
At present, various stuffed toys come in myriad of designs, colors and fillings. Most are now produced using synthetic materials and are available from the very small to huge toys bigger than babies. So far, teddy bears remain the most popular types in classic stuffed animals.
