Skateboard enthusiasts know from experience that optimum performance requires skill level and certain types of skateboards. Although skateboards may look all the same to beginners, there are subtle differences that trained eyes can quickly identify. Skateboards basically vary in lengths and concave depths.

The curve depth is essential if you want to master tricks and ramps. The deeper the curve, the more precise the tricks you can do. Traditional skateboards are the ones most commonly used for tricks. They are generally shorter than 33 inches. On the other hand, longboards measure over 35 inches and are mainly used for cruising purposes.
