When putting together a puppet show for children you have to make sure you have a whole lot of creativity and patience. Children get bored easily and often want you to change stories in the middle of one. This is why most puppeteers have a lot of puppet accessories on hand. They can pick one up and use it to help change the story or to further enhance the current one. With just a few accessory changes, a puppet can be a whole new personality.
Here are some ideas when putting together a puppet show.1. Be prepared to ad-lib. Some children love throwing out ideas for puppeteers to use on the spot.2. Have as many puppet accessories on hand as possible.3. Keep your “story” light and fun. Complicated story lines get lost on children easily.4. Keep the story as interactive as possible. Children love it when they feel included during the show.
