The Cutty Sark is one of the most famous ships of the 19th century. Built in 1869, she gave long illustrious years of service, having at least three home ports. Cutty Sark made her mark as a merchant ship, delivering tea from China. When she was taken out of commission in 1954, she was then preserved and turned into a museum.
Her fine structure has inspired the creation of Cutty Sark ship model. She epitomized the age of great sail and is the only known extreme clipper that still exists. Most of her hull fabric that has been with her since her construction has also survived. Merchant sailors and soldiers alike can fondly imagine sailing her during her glory days.
