The Joy Of Adoption

Having four adopted kids is one of the best decisions I have ever had in my life. Growing up in an orphanage myself, I knew how hard it is for a child to not have a person who will love and support them unconditionally. While there are those in the system who are there to take care of them, it is still different to have one’s own parent to look after their welfare.

In our home, I make it a point that all the things I add in the space will be for the benefit of the kids. I want them to be able to enjoy their life and appreciate the home they have under their roof. Just a month ago I was finally able to invest in one of those wooden outdoor play structures which really got my kids very excited. If only I was able to have a childhood as great as this, then my life would have been so perfect.

Weekly Visit

Given my divorce with my ex-wife, I would usually be allowed a time to visit my son each week so I can spend some time with him. These days things have been going pretty well for me and my ex-wife, we have gone to the point that we are both used to the set up and have slowly been moving on from the things we have experienced in the past. I am glad that at least we have remained friends for our child’s benefit.

I always try to get my son a present every time I come over to visit. This is the least I can do for him since I am usually not around for most of the week. Among all of the toys that I have given him, his mother mentioned that he absolutely loved the action playset that lights up I gave him a few weeks back. Although he looks forward to my weekly presents, he always seems to end up playing with that particular toy more than anything.

Increasing Members

Despite having three kids, my husband and I decided to adopt three more to make the family bigger. We also wanted to help those kids who are troubled and have no homes to be given a chance of a better life. Growing up in an orphanage himself, my husband knew how difficult and tough it was to be in the system. He wanted to do his share in providing for the needs of kids as much as he can.

After we adopted the three kids, we decided to transform the backyard into a place where the kids can roam free and enjoy themselves. My husband ordered some playground sets from the internet so the kids will have a great time playing together. My garden may now be a bit smaller than it used to be, but seeing the happy faces of my kids is definitely all worth it.

Perfect Play Room

Adopting was one of my options in order to fulfill my dream of becoming a mother. My past relationships never did work out, and I never got the chance to have my own baby out of these relations. I decided to simply adopt in order to make things much simpler. It was a decision that took a while to finalize, but it was all totally worth it.

I wanted to make sure that everything goes perfect for my child and that I can give her the life she would not be able to get. This is the reason why I got a room full of childrens toys so she can enjoy her new life with me and try to forget the painful past she had with her natural parents. I wanted to be able to give her the childhood she deserves and enjoy it while she can.

Brothers In Flight

The only thing that my brothers and I have in common is our passion for everything RC. We have been hooked on these things ever since our own dad showed us his RC collection. He never really allowed us to lay our hands on them because he was very careful and particular about his collection. When we grew up though, we were able to get ourselves our own planes to fly.

During the weekends we would always meet up in the open field near where I worked, since this is the only place in the area where we can fly our planes without any obstructions. I recently got myself some Airtronics 2.4 receivers to improve the performance of my planes, in the hopes of getting ahead of my older brothers. Flying is something that will always bond us no matter what.

For a parent like me whose concern is to prepare their child to learn a few things right before they start school, I always try to research for ways on how to develop skills and talents early on. This way I would not have to worry about them having a difficult time catching up. Learning the basics would get them ahead of the rest and build the foundation of a better future for them.

I always look on the internet for new toys I can get my kids which would not only get them to enjoy but also to learn a few things without them knowing it. I recently got the pattern blocks and boards which I ordered online and my kids have been enjoying playing with these things. It makes them feel rewarded whenever they see the finished product of the pattern they follow.

Kiddie Bedroom

Most bedrooms for kids would have the usual furniture items – a bed, a study table and a chair and a few other items which a child may need in order to develop some skills and talents along the way. The bedroom though is something which parents pay particular attention on, especially when these spaces are also important for sleeping. The area would of course need to be conducive for such.

One of the things these rooms would never go without is stuffed animals. These things are always a favorite among kids, especially when they are surrounded with these items in their beds. Sleeping is always more fun when there are soft cushions surrounding you, and these stuffed animals are a fun way to keep children company while they sleep at night.

My children tend to be a bit spoiled when it comes to my father. Since in my side I am the only one still who has taken down the path of marriage, the rest of my siblings are still single and without any kids. this is the reason why my father adores my kids very much, they are now the center of his attention every time we come over to my parents’ house. Even my siblings treat them the same way.

I was surprised when my dad called me the other day asking about the free area I have in our backyard at home. Asking him why he was curious, he told me that he saw this childrens outdoor play equipment that he wanted to get for the kids since they complained to him once that I barely had the time to bring them to the park. I was shocked that these children had such a big impact to my father, considering that the eldest is barely seven years old!

More Than A Toy

Most of my friends would tell me that I am still immature for collecting toys that only a typical kid would, but I guess it somehow helps me to connect with my childhood years. I never really had that much toys growing up, having to be raised in a foster home. This is the reason why I promised myself to get those toys I wished I had and collect them in my home.

Having all these toys though can cause too much clutter in the apartment, so I made sure I worked with a decorator to help me with the concern. She got me this Radio Flyer Big Red Classic ATW where I can place all the toys in a decorative way, and allow others to see what the toys I have been collecting all these years. It added a lot more flair to the theme aside from being a toy itself

Smart Parent

I always make sure that my kids will grow up to be the best children there could possibly be. I try to research and find ways on how I could do that, since I am one of the people who may have a strong influence on their life at this point in time. I feel that it is my duty to be able to harness their full potential and push them to numerous possibilities.

Given the number of toys and activities for children these days, I tend to be very strict in regulating my kids on these things. I opt for them to be involved in educational games, so I would know that they are not only having fun in the process, they are also able to learn a few things, as well as develop a few skills. Nothing beats being able to get ahead of the rest, especially when you yourself only want what’s best for your children.
