Early childhood is an important period in a child’s life. This is usually defined as the period between one and five years of age where a child’s body and brain grow and develop rapidly. During this period, kids learn how to walk, talk, run, write, read, and all the other basic skills needed for future learning. High-quality early childhood development have dramatic and lasting effects on learning and motivation.

I have a two-year-old son who is high-spirited and very active. Despite my schedule at work, I try to spend time with him as much as I can. I believe that exposing him to certain things like cooking, books and puzzles can help develop his motor, cognitive, and social skills. We go to the playground together and I let him interact with the other kids. I let him help out in the kitchen. I let him choose the books I read to him before he sleeps. So far, I think my son is going to grow up just fine.
