With so many toys in the market, it is hard to imagine how difficult it can still be to find the perfect toys for preschoolers during the holidays. The first thing that has to be kept in mind when buying one, however, is what the child seems to be interested in. Preschoolers who are showing artistic inclinations will have lots of fun hours with easles on which they can doodle. Those who appear interested in the world of science will appreciate telescopes and binoculars. Doll houses and ride-on toys in general provide interesting leisure activities for kids at this age too.

The second thing that has to be kept in mind is the safety of the toys. Choose toys that are non-toxic and age-appropriate. Go for sturdy toys as well. For example when choosing tricycles, make sure that the wheels are stable and do not wobble. Also, check if the handles are sturdy, and if seating is strong but comfortable.

Teaching a kid how to ride a bike should start early, but what kind of bike should you get? Experts say it should be based on the age of your child. The younger the child starts to ride a bike, the better.

Some experts say that you can already get your child his first set of tricycles before he walks. The ability to walk isn’t much of a factor since riding teaches only two things: steering and pedaling. Make sure though that the area where your child will use the tricycle is absolutely flat, since even the slightest inclines can make the tricycle roll over. Choose a trike with a brake that you can use in an emergency.
