My husband’s favorite toy is a model space ship. A collectible, as he calls it, the space ship was handed down to him by his father who received it from his father right after the US first landed on the moon back in 1969. The love for science and outer space runs in his family, which means he’ll probably never part with this toy, I mean, collectible.

The space ship is displayed in my husband’s office in a glass case on his bookshelf. It stands about 16 inches high and measures about 12 inched in diameter. This description does make it appear to be a collectible. However, most people are privileged enough to see what I see. I’ll peek into his office late at night to find him with the space ship in hand as he makes it soar through the air while making rocket noises with his mouth. I guess boys never really do grow up.

It helps that the movie on the “Titanic” was a mega hit. There are actually plenty of other ships that are almost the same as if not bigger than the titanic. The Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mary are both huge ships. However after a recent visit to the museum I learned about another big ship which was considered one of the finest. The Normandie was a French ship that was captured by the US and later sank. There as a Normandie model ship available at the store near the museum.

The Normandie was famous for its scientific engineering and design. It was also known for its fantastic French cuisine. Some of the world’s eminent chefs worked aboard the Normandie. The rooms resembled luxury hotel rooms. The Normandie model ship could not depict all the details and grandeur of the original Normandie.

Decorate your home with handicrafts. There are many creatively crafted products made of quality materials for long-lasting decorations. Among the must-have items are the scale model ships designed for the water and vessel enthusiasts. Most of these homing accents are made smaller to perfectly suit a tabletop. Materials of the scale model ships are most of the time from mahogany, teak and other wood resources.

These nice displays are ideal not just for home décor but for office and other structure ornaments as well. They are perfect for museums and showrooms that exhibit an array of miniature ships. Because scale model ships are more often than not made of wood, they are normally colored brown and neutral in shade. Having these smaller pieces of interior designs at home or at work creates a feeling of comfort and accomplishment. Collect them as they come in various designs that will surely match your taste and style.

He has a model sailboat, an ocean liner, an aircraft carrier and a Titanic model.

I think every boat collector has a Titanic model. It’s a piece of history, a tragic event that happened many years ago but is still talked about until today. I don’t think you can be a true collector without it. It’s like saying you collect basketball cards and you don’t have Michael Jordan. I, on the other hand, prefer to have a model sailboat. It’s simple, elegant and doesn’t look spooky at night.

The computer generated Titanic model ship they made really looked authentic. The story of the Titanic is really fascinating. A state of art ship (at that time) would which they thought was unsinkable actually sank!

After watching the movie, I decided to buy a 40 inch Titanic model ship. What I love about this model is it came with LED lights. I displayed it proudly in the mantel of our fireplace. There is something historical about the Titanic and I felt that by buying a Titanic model ship, I was keeping a part of history. My kids love it but are not allowed to play with it. Someday I will tell them the story of the Titanic, or I could just let them watch the movie.

Some model kits are sold started but not finished. The one selling it must have decided that putting together a model toy is not for him. He must have found following instructions too tedious. The cutting and gluing must have gotten to him. He probably thought it was better to sell it through eBay to get part of his money back.

These are not only great collectibles, they are also amazing pieces you can use as decorations to impress guests. Most ship models made by master craftsmen have all the little details that make each model very, very special. Extensive research is made to make the models authentic. They also go through strict quality control processes before leaving the workshop.

Among the highly admired collectibles is the HMS Victory model. This is designed after the tall ship that was launched on May 7, 1965. It is fully assembled and ready for display. Place yours inside a sturdy display case not only to protect it from dust but also to increase its value over time.

All model boat collectors will probably have the Titanic model in their collection. It is one of the most famous ships that ever sailed and sank. The Titanic really carved out its place in history boasting it to be unsinkable. It is an unfortunate tragedy that it hit an iceberg and never made it to its destination.

The titanic model is a replica of the original ship. Plans, pictures and sketches were studied to recreate all the features of the ship. Hundreds of hours are poured in to the creation of the model by expert craftsmen. And they are made of the finest quality wood you can find. You will be proud to display this model in your home or in your office.
